By collecting data using RFID technology, the tagged elements are followed in real-time along with all the hospital units; and thanks to a set of rules defined for each environment, the system is aware of their location, movement, and/or availability. Thanks to the identification of the routes, and applying the defined rules, the system can infer in which process the asset is, its location, availability, and possible drifts.
The solution can be integrated with other logistics control systems, for example, to notify actions (purchase, shipment to a given floor, transfer of equipment, etc.) as well as the exchange of information on inventory or on people associated with labels.
The solution infrastructure consists of:
Readers and RFID antennas connected to the network running continuously, or on-demand for specific functionalities, such as the control of clean hands.
Autonomous computers collect data from the readers and control their operation, as well as possible actuators connected to them.
A central system consolidates data, applies rules to determine asset status, and interacts with other systems for notifications and integrations.
A set of web applications that allows administering the system, querying and recording assets and rules, and associating people (staff or patients) with tags and actions.
